Mustache Movember

No that’s not a typo. Movember is the month to promote men’s health. In the month formerly known as November, men are encouraged to let their facial hair grow, and act as walking billboards that promote awareness of men’s health issues such as prostate and testicular cancer, heart disease and diabetes. For the more daring gentlemen, the mustache is the way to go. Others may choose instead to celebrate No Shave November, which is much more rugged, but equally appropriate. How do you celebrate? Pushups for Charity 2013 (From 5/22/13)

On Friday night, May 17th, at 6 p.m. Premier Personal Training in Greenville, SC hosted it’s 3rd Annual Pushups for Charity to benefit The Boot Campaign.

The Boot Campaign is a non-profit that helps support American troops in their transition home, raise awareness of the challenges they face and show appreciation for all they do for us.

On Friday night, we had over 30 people come and show their support for our troops.  As you can see in the pictures we had a great time!  Veronica from Earthfare came with over 100 bananas to make sure we had enough potassium to complete the whole 90 seconds with as many pushups as possible.

After 3 heats of pushups, we had our winners! Will and Ansley won the kids division and Fred and Heather won our adult division.  Each adult won a package from GNC and a gift certificate to Tortilla Maria!  The kids won a gift certificate from the Army Navy store and Tortilla Maria, too.  We also raffled off a donated Massage Envy gift certificate.

After the fun and pushups, we celebrated with Bucky’s BarBQ, donated by Wayne Preston of Bucky’s.  We also enjoyed a variety of liquid refreshments and wonderful fellowship.  All in all it was a great night filled with laughter, fun and lots of pushups!

Thanks to your generosity, we have so far raised over $3,400 for The Boot Campaign to raise awareness and support for our troops.  Who knew giving would be so much fun? Go to our Facebook page to see more pictures and video FB Pushups for Charity  Thanks again!
